So, what kind of jobs can you find in Merida Mexico, to be honest, jobs are not paid very well here, this is not an industrial city and we do not produce any kind of product at this moment. Most jobs are for medium and small commercial centers like plaza fiesta, gran plaza, wall mart, "Donde" which is a producer of cookies and many small businesses.
The people that have a lot of money in Merida is because they have their own business. However, even for people of the medium class is not easy to create a small business and have success, there are many restaurants that employ a lot of people, but there are also many restaurants that fail.
There are basically some nice restaurants where people like to go on the weekends and other small or cheap restaurants that most people go.
If you want to find a good job, is easier if you have some kind of experience and especialization in certain area, where maybe a big enterprise like pepsi, donde u other can hire you. But dont expect a big salary.
On the other hand good paying jobs are more common on Cancun and tourist places around the city. What you could do to earn some good extra money is to bring people from the US that want to travel to Merida or Cancun and get paid for it. For this to work out, you will need to talk with a travel agency in Merida and make a deal.
The good news is that Merida is growing and many people from different places are coming to live here, so this should open more opportunities for people that are trying to find a good job.
For example there are a few projects in development like the Yucatan country Club that im sure will hire a lot of people this year, recently the Altabrisa Plaza opened and they hired a lot of people too.
So, you have to make up your mind of what you want to do, what are your skills, what service can you provide? There exist opportunities but you have to look for them.
